When KCDC chose to vacate the site completely, the opportunity to takeover the adjacent 3 bay concrete tractor shed was pursued and our lease renegotiated to include this extra space. Like the other building, there was considerable cleanup required plus putting our own ideas into action.
Outside looked quite simple
Inside was really quite a mess
Our member, but not Harry
Different after a clean & paint
Open spaces & oh so clean
A new framed partition wall
Temporary kitchen facilities
A permanent kitchen
Our planning included a large verandah with clear roofing and a concrete floor, so more work was required
Holes for poles dug & almost ready
Poles upright
Flattened out, boxed, reinforced & ready
MenzShed members busy concreting
Great teamwork by all members
Bay one completed and drying out
Second bay finishing off
All finished – great job well done!
This has resulted in a great working area for the future
Pre-stained members are part of the roof framing
Parapet lined and flashed, clear roofing fixed
The new area was soon utilised by our members
The end result a great area in front of the shed
